VEDIC ASTROLOGY & STOCK MARKET TRADING

When we say the word 'Stock Market', we think of buying and selling and anything to do with trading and numbers comes under the arena of Mercury. No wonder 'Green', the colour ruled by Mercury is the only dominant colour we see in trading. Mercury is known as 'Kuber', which is associated with wealth. We often think that Venus is the only planet that gives us money, but we forget that Mercury has an equal potential to shower us with wealth and abundance as it is also a rajasic planet. Mercury is an earthy planet and has everything to do with earning well. This definitely tells us one thing that, in order to make good money out of trading stocks, one needs to have a powerful, well-placed mercury in their chart. Anytime Mercury gets connected with the 2nd/5th/7th/8th/11th house, sits in Taurus/Gemini/Libra/Capricorn or gets exalted in Virgo, the person has a good potential to earn wealth.

Speculation plays a major role in stock trading and through ways like short-selling, people have earned huge amounts of wealth. Anytime we think of 'risk' or 'speculation', two things come to our mind, Rahu and the sign of Scorpio. Rahu has everything to do with speculation and earning quick money, so another planet that definitely needs to be pretty powerful in your chart is Rahu. This planet gains strength and becomes favorable for speculative businesses, anytime it is connected with the 2nd/5th/7th/8th/10th or 11th house. Rahu in 8th house position needs to be examined extra carefully as this is a diabolical position. If you have this placement, then in order for you to gain through trading, you need to have Rahu connected with  either Venus or Mercury, 2nd lord and 11th lords should also have some connection with Rahu and most importantly, Rahu should be in earthy signs, like Taurus, Virgo or Capricorn. It also does well in Air signs like Gemini, Libra or Aquarius.

The sign of Scorpio and the 8th house  become important to judge because, it is the natural 8th house, which represents uncertainty, volatility, unpredictability and risk. Stock market trading is a high-risk businesses. People can lose whatever they earned in seconds and also gain so much in seconds. In order for you to gain successfully from stock trading, you need to have a favourable 8th house. This would happen when the 8th house makes a connection with Venus/Mercury and Rahu or 8th house makes a connection with 2nd/5th/11th and 9th house. The 9th house becomes important because that represents your luck and fortune. If your Indu Lagna falls in Scorpio or 8th house, then also the person could gain from the stock market.

Certain positions are not favorable for investing/trading in stocks. If a person has Rahu in 4th or 12th or Rahu in water signs, like Cancer/Scorpio/Pisces, then the person should avoid indulging in speculation as the person could lose a lot. In some cases, Rahu gives good results in these houses and signs, if Rahu is vargottama or placed in the ascendant of the Indu Lagna. Some other positions, where the person should refrain from trading is, having Moon in the 1st/8th/12th house or Moon debilitated in Scorpio. Moon should be in earthy/ airy signs for the person to be successful in trading.

The person should ideally start trading in the Mahadasha of their 2nd/5th/8th or 11th lord, provided it is supporting the other positions. Rahu Mahadasha can also be extremely favorable for the native, if Rahu is well placed and strong. The person should also indulge in trading on days favorable for their chart. Eg: A Virgo ascendant native can choose Wednesday or Friday as Mercury is the ascendant lord and Venus rules the 2nd and 9th house. The person should avoid trading on a Sunday as Sun is the 12th lord. In this manner, you can decide the favorable days for yourself. The person can also choose certain nakshatras that might be favourable for trading. Some good nakshatras are Rohini, Pushya, Ashlesha, Purva Phalguni, Hasta, Chitra, Swati, Danishtha, Purva Ashadha.
